Hi, I'm Ihor!

I’m a product designer, and one of my favorite parts of the work is exploring unfamiliar businesses and learning how they operate. I know... this sounds fairly standard, but for me, the value lies in experiencing small parts of people’s working lives alongside them. Whether you’re selling a service or buying it, there are people behind every process. You need to understand their needs, desires, and problems, and part of that understanding comes from sharing in their experience.

Over more than ten years in design, I have gone from being the sole designer in a small company to working with international teams and developing a design practice. At EPAM, I worked with SAP teams on the company’s internal products, which helped hundreds of people do their work every day; at Sombra, on products for smaller businesses, while hiring and supporting designers in such a way that our expertise brought real benefit to clients. This experience shaped my approach: understanding context, reaching agreement with people, and thinking about how my decisions will live on after products launch or update.

I came into digital design with a background in architecture, which shaped my worldview in many ways. I’m still interested in watching how people use and navigate the space around them: where they go, what they notice, where they stop, and which routes they choose. Digital products also have their own routes, entrances and exits, and places where it is easy to get lost or feel uncomfortable. In my opinion, this determines how people perceive a product and whether they want to return to it.

Looking ahead, I’m most energized by roles where design is trusted as a strategic partner, and the work is grounded in real-world impact rather than performative outcomes. I’m drawn to mission-driven teams addressing complex, meaningful problems. I do my best work in environments that prioritize clarity, long-term thinking, and strong cross-functional relationships, where designers are empowered to shape how teams work together.
